About 1 1/2 hours from Kunming, is the Stone Forest, an amazing area filled with huge limestone outcroppings. It has been designated by UNESCO as both a World Heritage Site and A World Geopark. Although it was drizzling we spent almost 3 hours walking through the stones. For almost the entire time, we were alone on our walk, but at the end we realized how many other people were enjoying the park. Enjoy the photos.
In addition to a beautiful, scenic area, the park had the most amazing toilet facility
. It might seem strange to comment on this, but this would be impressive anywhere. The building had a large lounge area, complete with waterfall and aquarium. The actual toilet area was also very large, and included an area with hair driers as well as the expected facilities. In the western area, the stalls were large and wood paneled and contained small video screens featuring videos of the park. It may be the only time that I have photographed a public bathroom.
