Killer Phesant

Mt. Cook , Canterbury, New Zealand
Unfortunately in the morning, the weather had taken a turn for the worse up in the hills, so we didn't bother with the walk. I was just doing the morning jobs and as I turned round from topping up the water tank, I was met by a very inquisitive pheasant. Mel got some bread out for her and we managed to get her to eat out of my hand. The only problem was, when the food ran out, the pheasant got rather aggressive and started to peck my hand! Surviving my vicious attack, we headed to the next port of call; Dunedin. About two hours into the journey, I realised Mel's map reading skills weren't as good as she'd made them out to be. We'd missed a vital turning. But with a swift U-turn, and 80km back the way we came, we were back on track. Although we did see an amazing clay formation so I suppose it was worth it.
