Blenheim, South Island, New Zealand
We woke up to blue skys for a change, had a shower, sorted the camper out and set off to Picton. I had found us what looked like a short cut on the map, actually driving it was a different matter! Charlotte Drive was the steepest, windiest road we've been on yet, so much so we had to pull over for a while because it was making Mel feel ill. Its no wonder its not the main road any more. We actually wanted to get to Blenheim so we could do some wine tasting but we detoured to Picton so we could book the ferry and post Mel's postcards. While we were there we had some awesome Blue Cod and chips for dinner and Mel nipped to the doctors to see if we can sort this pain in her side out. We made it to our DOC site just outside Blenheim before it was dark which is a first, so we had a little walk on the beach and watched some crazy surfers braving the cold and battling some huge waves before retiring to the cosy camper.
