Possum in a bin

Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand
It was only a short drive to Auckland but first we had to go to Browns Bay which is a northern suburb of Auckland. I'd been looking for an underwater case for the camera since Koh Tao, and managed to find one on the Internet in a little shop in Browns Bay. After the quick stop over, we had to get to Auckland airport to drop Irene off. We said goodbye to Irene, Mel found a possum sleeping in a bin, and then we grabbed a taxi back to town. It was really strange being driven after five weeks of having to find our own way around. We got dropped off outside the Nomads hostel. So now it was time to sort out all our extra baggage we'd acquired and decide what we were going to keep and what we would send home. Just before sunset we headed out and went up the sky tower for a couple of drinks and a view over Auckland. Later that night we went down to the waterfront for a nice meal and some more drinks. The next day we went to the post office to buy a couple of boxes to send all our stuff home and it ended up costing us over $140 each! Most of the day was spent packing and getting everything sorted ready for our next leg of the journey, Fiji, although we did have time to go for a really good Chinese. I think New Zealand has got to be the best place we've been yet as far as scenery and friendly people go, and a campervan is by far the best way to see it. Mel, myself and Irene traveled over 5000km all together and loved every minute. Now its time for some sun again courtesy of the Yasawa Islands in Fiji. We have booked a package so we can let someone else do all the work and we won't have to worry about a thing.
