MASSIVE trees

Eureka, California, United States
Just as you pass back into California there is the Redwood National Park, this is where the massive Red Wood trees live. We called into the Visitors Centre to get a map and set off to the park. On the drive in, the trees are pretty dam big but they're nothing compared to the giant Red Woods. We were dwarfed by the sheer size of these trees, you feel so insignificant standing there staring up at them not to mention, the stiff neck you get! We parked up and had a walk to one of the bigger trees, this tree called "The Big Tree" is 6.6m wide and over 1500 years old! Further down the coast we came across a "drive through" tree. We thought surely not, but pay $5 and you can drive through a Red Wood! They have cut a car shaped hole straight through the middle of a tree, the amazing bit is its still alive! We didn't make it to San Fran so we stopped in a place called Eureka for the night.
