Leaving on Edelweiss

Richmond, British Columbia, Canada
Worked until noon, then home for a shower and closing the house. Willemstad drove us to YVR and we are now in the Premium Lounge watching the aircraft and waiting for boarding at 4:00. The connecting flight to Brussels looks quire full so who knows how long the trip will take.
Well we are finally leaving ....it will be 20 min late and W is fretting but we are on vacation so No problem. The aircraft interior is quite nice and the Captain has come around to say hello. It's a nice gesture.. Unfortunately we have a toddler across the aisle from us which may prove to be interesting as the flight goes on! The menu looks quite varied and for once there are lots of veggies available. We will see how the quality turns out.
Well it's been an interesting flight. Just as we started to eat dinner W started to feel dizzy and had a weird semi conscious episode. I thought he was having a stroke....very scary!! The man across the aisle was a clinical researcher/ physician and although he said he didn't do any patient care now he helped as well as a Canadian Orthopedic trauma MD and a Swiss MD.....the crew was cella the and brought the 02 and Bp monitor right away. W's BP was only 83/60 and he was clammy and cold but did come around. The thought was he was hypoglycemic because he had not eaten all day and had been stressed with the baggage delay. He was recommended a hot sweet cup of Nespresso and then had a Mars Bar and eventually felt better. It was really scary though....
The crew was really great both with the episode as well as the general service....very friendly and helpful, the food was very good too. We had nice Swiss Aveline Wine with salad, pumpkin soup and prosciutto on dark rye... Then a lovely piece of Salmon with veggies, a lovely Mango Mousse and port with cheese and coffee. The chairs went flat but I didn't sleep long....still too stressed with the scare I guess.
We arrived on time inn Zurich and got the last seat with W on the jump seat to Brussels.....now waiting for Air Traffic Control to let us depart....late unfortunately..still have to catch the train from Brussels to Antwerp then transfer to another little train to Lommel. It will be a long day by the time we arrive at Inez and Klaas's.
1800- we have finally made it to Lommel where Klaas picked us up and now we are having a beer in front of the fire in Baleen. We have had a very nice dinner of soup and smoked salmon salad with chocolate mousse and a white French wine. It's going to be sunny all week so we will have a few days here to acclimatize and then We'd. We are going to Brugge for an overnight stay.
