Well we were lucky; flight is full and we were able to get two seats in Premium Economy....slightly bigger seats and a few amenities like a In Flight bag with socks etc. and pillow and blankey. KLM was full so it's great we are on. I'm listening to Mozart and W is across the aisle so all in all not bad. With luck we will make our connecting flight
In FRA and we will be in Amsterdam around 1400.
We arrived after a pretty god flight. Actually slept a bit although the seats didn't recline much they weren't too bad. Food was ok: we has a spicy beef with rice and Chinese veggies and scrambled eggs for breakfast. Arrived in FRA on time and caught the next flight at 12:45 arriving in Amsterdam around 4:00. The sun was actually shining but it's chilly and windy. We caught the train to Lelylaan station and the. The tram to Surinammerplein and then walked about 7 minutes to the AirBnB. Anna was shopping Stowe had to wait a few minutes for her to arrive.. It's a cute main floor flat with a modern white look.. IKEA kitchen and lots of natural wood accents.. It has a small bedroom and bathroom, and a separate single bed for Claire. And a beautiful garden...hope the weather is nice enough to sit out on the terrace for breakfast at least once. Walter and I checked out the neighborhood and found a cute local bar/ restaurant called Gent aan de Schilkel which is right on a small canal with outside waterside tables. We walked along the canal to Amstelveenserweg and then Harlemmerweg. Lots of bakeries, restaurants, grocery stores and other shops. Coffee places, bars too. It's a cute neighborhood with lots of young people.. Claire arrived by bus around 8:30 and we went to dinner at the Gent...really nice staff, good beer and the food was very good. I had cod filet with potatoes au gratin, and sautéed spinach, Claire had steak and frites which was excellent and Walter has Abe's stew with frites and salad. Very enjoyable evening.. Pored for awhile but were reindeer the awning with heat lamps and blankets so nice and warm..
