Munich, Bavaria, Germany
Up early to have a breakfast of a boiled egg, toasted bun and you grunt and muesli. Tidied up the apartment for Sonia and we were off by 10:00 in the VW Polo. We traveled first to Frasdorf which is the next little village North of Ashau and the under the freeway to go via a small rural road towards Rosenheim. About 15 mins we need up in Riedering and hit a detour because the town were bringing the new Maibaum to the area by the church so the road was closed.. We parked and walked down to watch...everyone was in their Trachten costumes: ladies in their Dirndles and the guys their Lederhosen. The tree was being pulled on 3 wheeled carts by 2 farm horses and was accompanied by pairs of young girls and guys. The Feuer dept was in charge and everyone was waiting by the Biergarten across from the church to see its arrival and erecting process. In the past it was done by hand but the initial maneuvers we being done by machine and then I guess the guys would start with the poles...
We then drove through Stephaskirchen and eventually around the Simasee via Bad Ensdorf and another detour and Maibaum ceremony to Prutting and then Rosenheim. The weather was beautiful...sunny and around 16 so we had hoped to go into town as the old city is supposed to be nice....but another detour/ Maibaum procession made that difficult so we drove north along the Inn river to Wasserberg and then Ebersberg with the plan to find the forest gastwirt we used to visit when we lived in Vaterstetten. Unfortunately after several attempts to find. Route through the Ebersberger Forest we have up and tried to find the other countryside biergarden that we used to bikes to.....eventually after roaming through Neukeferloh and Baldaham we found it in Keferloh but it was closed......so we drove to Sonia's and had a bier before we left for Scwabing and the Georganer Hof for supper. We sat outside first and had a great Beet Soup, I had a beef travel spitz with potatoes and And W had Wiener Schnitzel....both very good. then the clouds came in and just after we found a table inside it started to pour. So after coffee we took a cab back to Sonia's and packed

This morning we were up @6:00 and drove the rental car back to the Hauptbahnhof where we had a coffee and croissant in the first class lounge and now we are on the ICE train to Koln where we will transfer to a local train to Aachen then bus to Maastricht. Due to arrive at around 4:00.
Well we arrived a little late in AachenHBH but after a run made it to the Regional train and then the bus to Maastricht and the local bus to the B+B around 4:00 PM. It's cloudy and cool but we went to the Tribunal Bar to meet Claire and had a couple of beers with unshelled peanuts which you she'll and dump the shells on the floor then we walked over to Le Virage a very nice restaurant with Art Deco walls.. We had the Prix Fix menu with white Spargel and salmon and felt salad and a poached egg for appie, wonderful steak with a a Madeira wine sauce and more Spargel and then a little yummy dessert. Great wine and great service and we had fun. By the time we got back to the B+ B it was 11:00 so we went to sleep.
