Well we are off...packed into Delta Airlines with mostly seniors and overweight As coming back from an Alaskan cruise.. The flight is 4.5 hours which is good ..... the seat is hard, doesn't recline and I'm in the middle and squished on the window side. Thankfully we brought some Granola bars cause the food is expensive and very limited. It's becoming bumpy as well. Oh well can't always have a great flight. At least we are seated together and the crew is nice.
Inez and Klaas have been in Atlanta since late Wednesday so should be recovered from the jet lag by the time we arrive .... Talked to Claire this morning and it sounds as if she is starting to settle into Brussels again.. The new internship sounds quite challenging though.
Well we arrived early in Atlanta but we went to the domestic terminal to pick up our luggage ....oops. We were supposed to go to the International Baggage instead. W thought since we pre cleared customs we would arrive in the Domestic area....wrong! The airport is huge and we had to take a train to the baggage area then a shuttle back to the International area, then back to the domestic area where we found the ATL Shuttle train to the hotel. Very nice staff at the Springhill Suite?..Mark then told us that Inez and Klaas were over at the terminal waiting for us. So off we went via the ATL again to have a burger at the Food Court...not the most auspicious,dinner but it was OK for airport food. We are getting up early tomorrow to start our exploration....Madison then Athens. Hope we sleep well and we have a good trip.
