Charleston, South Carolina, United States
Another beautiful, hot, humid day...had a nice breakfast and then we were off to Folly Beach first which is on James Island.....across large marsh flats full of white egrets, and Boardwalk piers that connect private homes to their boats. We parked and walked to the Fishing Pier for a look and found the local fishermen watching the construction people replace some of the piers pilings...no fish tho.
Then on to Johns Island and Fresh Fields shopping center which Pam had recommended ...very hot day and expensive, not very exciting stores so we had a coffee outside sitting by a petty fountain and then went to Kiawah island and the county beach which was lovely...miles of fine white sand. Walter and I walked along the sand while I and K went back to the car to rest. It was much cooler on the beach and we watched 2 labs play in the water Then off to the Tea Plantation on Wadalmaw Iasland. The plantation is the only tea gram in the US and we watched a show on the production of tea.very interesting. Came home and had a drink on the patio, changed and went downtown to eat. Met one of the Carriage horse trainers and asked for a good hamburger Resto..we eventually ended up at a brew pub for a. Urged. It was quite good. Walked along Bay Street since it is so warm.just packing as we leave tomorrow for Savanna if the weather is still we hope to stop in Beaufort
