We had a great sleep...very comfy bed and went down for breakfast at8:30 sharp for fruit, yogurt and granola, grapefruit juice, coffee, 3 fried eggs, hash browns and bacon. The bacon was overdone but it was quite good. Spent a pleasant time in the kitchen chatting with Dick the proprietor... It's a very rainy day so we caught the20 bus downtown for $6( a $5 day pass for me and a $2 day pass for W. We wandered around the Pearl district checking out the boutiques, went to Macy's and Nordstroms Rack where I found a pair of rubber boots as my leather ones were leaking. We also had a coffee at the Pearl Cafe. Tonight we are going first to a brew pub called Migration and then to either a southern style Resto or Cuban for dinner....just returned from a walk in the rain.. We first went to the Brew Pubs called Migration where we had a cream ale and then a dry hops beer...both were very good. It's a converted garage with outside picnic tables for the summer . You get your drinks at the bar like in the UK....nice and cozy....the. We walked across the street to a Cuban restaurant called Pambiche on Gilson and 28th where we had a pollo dish and a pulled pork dish with plantains which are like fries and beans with rice. Wouter thought the chicken could have been spicier but I enjoyed the pork with both sauces ....one with bananas and one a bit spicier. We just walked home in the pouring rain....now for the tea and cookies. yummy!! My new rain boots are awesome....my feet are dry and toastie!!
Tomorrow we are off to the outlets in Woodburn..
