Angoulême, Poitou-Charentes, France
We got up to the smell of coffee and had baguette, jam and chocolate crossaints with freshOJ....the house looks really nice as they have painted every room white except the main floor which they left the creamy yellow. They upstairs front bedroom wher we stayed last visit has a water leak from the ceiling so we are sleeping in the back, bedroom instead. JF and I went shopping at the market and then we walked through the old Angoleme: up the walls in front of the house to the statue on the hill to the theater and church, and Market in the Halle....to the old town where all the cafes and restaurants are ...We went to the city museum which was to the house. Now a couple of hours of relaxation and then dinnerquite interesting...art and historical artifacts from prehistoric to modern times. We then had a coffee and walked around the other side of the city back...had a little nap and then left for an apertif of Rose wine and then dinner at La Cantina...nice little bistro. We sat on the second floor and had a prix fixe.....steaks were not very tender but it was a fun evening...then the owner offered us a digestif called get and pronounced jet...like a mint liqueur but not sweet. Then off to another bar....seems like the guys know everyone in the cafes and bars so it was fun.
