Tibidabo

Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands
We visited Tibidabo last week. Tibidabo is a mountain on the northwest outskirts of Barcelona where you can see amazing views all over Barcelona and the Mediterranean. We took the subway to the base of the mountain and then rode the funicular up the mountain to the top. A funicular is a tram-like vehicle that is pulled by means of cables up the steep side of the mountain. At the top of Tibidabo is the Catholic church Temple de Sagrat Cor, or the Church of the Sacred Heart. Additionally, there is an old, turn-of-the-century amusement park across the plaza from the church with some of the original rides. While we didn't ride any of the rides, we did wander around the amusement park, toured the church, and took in the amazing views from the top of the mountain. Enjoy the pictures!
