We were still cruising when I came up on deck for my first
breakfast. There was no one else out on the bow. I just watched as we exited a
lock and started under a bridge. The captain put two bottles of water, a liter
and a two liter, on the leading edge of the Sun Deck. Now, the Sun Deck
railings have been taken down for several days to insure that we could get
under some of the low bridges. As we went under the first bridge, there was
maybe two inches of clearance. Whew, that was close!! As we came to the next
bridge, it looked like it had more clearance. Nope, the taller, two liter
bottle was knocked down.
We are about five to several hours behind schedule. Once the
Bragi drops us off in Bamberg, it is going to keep going and we will be bussed
there after the tours in Bamberg. Our guide seemed a little unsure of his
English skills, but kept the show going. He did a nice job with the history and
pointing out the architectural highlights of the buildings.

We ended our tour Bamberger Dom. Kim made me bee-line it to
the Schlenkerla Brewery to drink some smoked beer (rauchbier)! Mmmmm, smoked
beer! Afterwards, Kim forced me to get three bottles to take home. We walked around
the town a little and took in the sites around the river islands.
We caught our bus for the forty-five minute ride to the
ship. We are now five hours behind, but we should be on-schedule by tomorrow
afternoon!
