Suzhou--the Venice of the East

Suzhou, China
An hour or so by bus from Shanghai, Suzhou is a splendid, verdant city. Our tour took us to the humorously named Humble Administrator's Garden, which was in fact constructed by a wealthy politician, not a "humble administrator."

We also took a river cruise through this "Venice of the East." (Although I think a lot of cities call themselves that!)
