We're in Dingle now, on the Dingle Peninsula. We've visited a stone-age fort, a 1,200-year-old stone church--including the roof--and eaten lots of fresh Atlantic fish.
Andy is already bored with our travel style--he wrote in his journal: "There's a beach I want to go to, but Mom says we need to see more of Ireland first
. I kind of get bored of the old "drive by, stop, take pictures, say "Wow!," go thing. We never do fun things. Liam isn't helping my protest either."
Despite the protest that we never do fun things, please check out the pictures of Andy and Liam enjoying the warm Atlantic water of Tralee Bay. We have had wonderful weather so far--blue skies, pleasant temperatures.
We are so glad to be in the campervan. Last evening we went out for fish, but the boys didn't want any! So, we bought a cheeseburger for Liam and salad for Andy. Today I made quesadillas for them for lunch, and they raved: "They're as good as at home!" Taking their beds and a kitchen with us allows them to visit Ireland but still be kids--they want things the way they like them.
We're off to the Ring of Kerry now--we're going to camp this evening and go to Skelling Michael tomorrow to see the old monastery and the "place where the Vikings landed," which Liam has been anticipating for months.
