At Sea

Pacific Ocean
Thursday 2 November we crossed the international date line and then the next day was Saturday 4 November. Skipping Friday was a little bit confusing.  On Sunday 5 November we crossed the equator. The weather is 28 degrees with high humidity and it’s easy to get very sunburnt, so doing our best to stay out of the sun.
On the ship they have Equator Crossing initiations. The crew get dressed up do a script play (pantomime)and gather all new staff and passengers that have not crossed the equator by sea before. They cover them in coloured whipped cream, make them kiss a trout fish and then throw them in the pool. It was very entertaining, even the captain got involved. The weather has been very warm and they seas have been quite calm. Today is Monday the 6 November and tomorrow is Monday 6 November crossing the international date line again. This is an experience we will always remember. On Wednesday 15 November  we cross over again and will skip Thursday and go straight to Friday. We will then be back on the same date as Australia.
