Gisborne, Gisborne, New Zealand
Gisborne is a coastal city located on the east cape of the New Zealand's North Island. Referred to as the "City of Rivers", Gisborne sits at the convergence of Waikato, Taruheru and Turanganui rivers. It has a population of 37,000. It was a bit cooler today and a tender boat into shore. We walked around and found the local food markets. It was busy with lots of organic local produce. Plenty of fruit, veg, bread, seafood and coffee. The street was very quiet and had a lot of empty shops. On our way back to the ship we saw some outriggers having a race on the river. We had to be back on board by 1pm (quite a distance to our next port) so we didn't get much time to do a lot today. Next stop Tauranga (Rotorua).
