Hello from Lugano

Lugano, Ticino, Switzerland
Today we left St Moritz and it was cold, wet and snowing in the alps. We descended down the step mountain and the bus driver carefully negotiated 17 hairpin bends, in a heavy fog. We made our way from Switzerland into Italy, passing through quaint  towns along Lake Como. Never did we imagine the beauty of this drive. We saw the lake front home owned by Versace.  A lot of movie stars have homes in this part of Italy. The road was narrow, looking up at the tall alps with snow on the peaks. We arrived at the beautiful Lake Lugano, the most southern tip of Switzerland. We had lunch overlooking the Lake and wandered through the cobbled streets looking at some great shops. We then boarded our boat for a evening cruise on  Lake Laguno. The lakes here are green, and the guide informed us it was from all the minerals that make them that colour.  The weather was a bit overcast but you could see the snow on the alps. The buildings reminded us of Burano in Venice, (many of them coloured) they lined the lakes water line.We were dropped off at a restaurant overlooking the lake and the food was yum. Our wine glasses were gravy jugs, a first for me, but when in Lugano!
