Lake Geneva
Travelling on coach through the vineyards and apricot grove of the lower Rhine Valley, we arrive in the beautiful Lake Geneva.
Geneva is a city in Switzerland that lies at the southern tip of expansive Lac Léman (Lake Geneva). Surrounded by the Alps and Jura mountains, the city has views of dramatic Mont Blanc. Headquarters of Europe’s United Nations and the Red Cross, it’s a global hub for diplomacy and banking. French influence is widespread, from the language to gastronomy and bohemian districts like Carouge. It has a population of 200,000. This is where Freddie Mercury spent his last years here in Montreau.
We arrived along Lake Geneva and stopped to see the castle overlooking the lake. It was late afternoon with the sun setting with all of the flowers in bloom. It has a nice feel here and we could have spent more time here. Our room had great views of the alps and lake. Next stop Bern.
