Hello from Paris

Paris, Île-de-France, France
We arrived in Paris to find our hotel was very central and close to shops, supermarkets and the cosmopolitan life of Paris. The weather was the warmest since we have been away at 22 degrees. We found a sky bar (56th floor) that had a great view of the city and took in the local sites. We then went on a dinner cruise along the Seine. Watching people line the river bank with beers, champagne, dinner and dancing. Life along the shoreline of an evening appears so simple and nice. We saw most of the prominent sites in Paris as we travelled along the river and lastly we arrive at the Eiffel tower with it's beautiful light show. Off the boat we stood at the foot of Eiffel tower for photos and Mark loved seeing the bikers go past doing wheel stands and revving their bikes, it was a real show.
The next day we walked up and down the Champs Élysées. The day was fine and it was Sunday. The police and special forces had a big presence, on guard for the next riot. Some businesses were still boarded up from the previous riots. Adam suggested we visited Angelina's famous chocolate shop (Coco Chanel was a regular and had her own table) and it was impressive, even for Mark that doesn't really like chocolate. I enjoyed their famous eclair with Champagne and Mark had a Mount Blanc with a Corona. Glad to receive the suggestion. Thank you.
We then went to the Notre Dame. It is now fenced off and the crowds surrounded the barricades. The mood was somber and it was like everyone was in mourning. Hopefully they will start the rebuild process soon.
We have really enjoyed our time in Paris and have been lucky to have such a great experience here.  Next stop Reims.
