Bedford Weir to 1770

Agnes Water, Queensland, Australia
We drove on south through Clermont and Capella, where the country started to freshen up and the road became bouncier. In Emerald, which has grown enormously since we were here last, we looked in BCF for a new camping chair for Rick (my old one that he was using completely broke when star gazing last night) but no luck. Then we drove on to Bedford Weir. We don't know why everyone raves about this place as we found it pretty average, but maybe that was because Rick couldn't catch any fish and I didn't like the heat-can't please everyone:-)

After two nights I needed some cooler camping so it was on to Agnes Water and the Camping Grounds at 1770 at $39 a night- definitely not free camping but it was worth it! Our spot by the camp kitchen was great, just one row from the beach and lots of passing people for Rick to start up conversations with .

Last time we were here was 2004, before we built at Flaxton, so we noticed some changes! More shops and accommodation places at Agnes but 1770 is still the same, though the boardwalk along the beach before reaching the camping grounds is a lovely addition. Three nights here, with lots of friendly couples, families and happy kids, and a few not so happy, was so nice and relaxing- a good way to finish our final holiday for the year. In the morning we drive to Djindi.
