GUWAHATI to TEZPUR 4 hours/186km
KF Hotel 2500Rs ($40.50) including breakfast
 
Just as we started walking toward the bus station at 8:15, we conveniently caught a bus bound for Tezpur which was trawling for passengers. It was a smooth ride all the way with paved roads and flat terrain.

.....In Tezpur, we were let off at the junction about 4 km from the center and few hundred feet from the highly rated KF Boutique Hotel. We checked it out and decided to stay. We were due for a bit of luxury. We had wifi for the first time in a week, I was content. 

After lunch at the hotel restaurant, Dave hopped on shared taxi (10Rs) to town to purchase tickets for the sumo to Tawang for tomorrow. He wasn't happy with the back seats which were available. But the ticket seller made a call and our names were then penciled in for the second row seats. The best part was when they agreed to pick us up at the junction in front of our hotel. That will save us from having to come into town at 5AM.
 
 
.....I nursed my cold and relaxed.

Tezpur is another of those Indian towns with little of interest for a tourist except transit. We were happy to stay in the cocoon of the KF Boutique Hotel, probably the nicest place to stay in town.
