Friday 30th May.

It’s finally started. We are actually at the airport, and true to form sitting near
the captain and crew of our flight in
the departure hall of Jersey Airport. As usual things have not gone totally
smoothly, (what’s new? You may ask....) Well, British Airways exchanged our
ticket and when we went too check in, no machine would recognise it and we had
to go to another counter. Then, the flight was delayed. Apparently there was a
technical radio failure at the airport stopping all flights in and out.

Finally we took off and now we’re happily ensconced in a very nice hotel in Gatwick.
Tomorrow is another day and we’re finally off................

Stayed
in a great hotel last night and arrived at Gatwick in plenty of time to do all
the necessary check in things and found out that despite booking seats for our
original flight, and asking BA to transfer them as well to the new flight, they
had not done so and Dyana & I were not even sitting together. The plane was
rammed as it was the beginning of the long weekend break. I asked what could be
done about it and to my utter amazement, the lady behind the desk asked us to
wait a minute and disappeared behind the counters. She returned about 5 minutes
later and informed us that it was their cock-up and was going to upgrade us.
What a brilliant result. Club or world traveller class is brilliant. Hopefully
now everything will change.
