Jele Dzong, Paro, Bhutan
So today we start the Druk trek which is an original mule track that links the Paro and Thimphu valleys and then ultimately Bhutan to the Indian border. The trek is always from Paro to Thimphu as the required pack horses are only available in Paro. It is a 4 night, 5 day trek camping along the way. met up with our team of cooks, horse handlers, tent erectors, camp cleaners - at least 10 men. The men and pack horses loaded up and took off early morning from  watchtower. The group plus Tsering started a little later in the morning stopping off for lunch in a farm. The path winds its way slowly and evenly upward through forest. The forest at first is mostly pine but changes to bamboo followed by birch and rhododendron. Reach camp in a clearing, tents already erected at 3,450m/11,319ft. Fabulous camp fire cooked evening meal
