Jimilang Tsho, Thimphu, Bhutan
Woke this morning being told that many of the pack horse had escaped in the night. The porters had brought bottles of whiskey with them, had a few too many wee drams and failed to tether the horses. Our guide, Tsersing, was not happy as you can imagine. The horses would more than likely be heading back down to Paro where they came from. The main herder was sent to find them. It meant a change to todays walk and instead of gaining more height and traverse a ridge we stayed lower, still going upward. The remaining horses and porters had to carry all the gear themselves. Eventually the large Jimi Langtsho Lake came into view. We walked around the lake and along cliff paths with massive drops below leading around a succession of ridges to a second lake Jana Tsho and our third camp at 3,956m/12,975ft. Wonderful campsite and the night was very cold and frosty. More fabulous camp food
