Day 16, 20 October and finally moving on today heading for Cagnes sur Mer. Along the coastal road through Royal, Port Grimaud, Sainte Maxime and Fejus and the very busy St Raphael. Around Cannes and Antibes to Cagnes hoping to stay at Camping Hippodrone but it was 'complet'. Called the campsite at Les Gorges du Loop who had vacancies. Lovely drive up the Loop gorge to the very quiet campsite Les Gorges du Loop. Another sunny warm day
Day 17 and a steep walk to the hill top village of Gourdon. Easy path to follow but steep all the way. Gourdon is immaculate if a tad touristy with fabulous 360 degree views. Sunny and warm clouding over late afternoon
October 22 and day 18. Day out today. To the Maeght Foundation https://www.fondation-maeght.com/ Some of the biggest names in 20th-century European sculpture, including Georges Braque, Joan Miró and Alberto Giacometti, came together to help create La Fondation Maeght. Wonderful space both inside and out in the gardens. Then onto St Paul de Vence which is ultra touristy and jammed full of gallery shops. Beautiful buildings with views of Nice and the coast. Shall we go to Vence and Tourettes as well ? Not enough time so after a small shop back to the campsite. Gorgeous weather today
Day 19. Drive further up the Loop valley past a mini Iguazu waterfall, col at 963m for lunch with views of the Azur coast. Looked around the Matisse chapel in Vence. Then onto Tourettes and the most splendid medieval village, certainly the best one and selling violet ice cream which it is famous for. Another warm, sunny day
