Lovely day on the road

Bellis, Alberta, Canada
Enjoyed the trail at the Mt. Robson info centre and got some excellent photos of the mountain. You don’t often get to see the peak, so we were very lucky. From there it was through to Jasper, again with a few stops. Were lucky enough to see some mountain sheep beside the road. Just beyond that we stopped for awhile to watch people wading in the Athabasca River. Lots of cars were stopped beside the road.I’ve only ever seen that stretch of river as a lot of sandbars with streams meandering throughout. This year, because of the wet weather, it was a lake.
Followed the Yellowhead Hwy going east and had every intention of going through Edmonton, but I got so road weary, I made a turn north and started following secondary roads . That kept me from falling asleep. I got as far as Bellis, Alberta and spent the night at a Regional Park there. I managed to catch a lovely sunset and watched the International Space Station fly-by but couldn’t stay up for the meteor shower. The bugs were pretty bad but I expected worse considering the wet summer they’ve been having in the prairies.
