Val Marie, Saskatchewan, Canada
Got a pretty decent sleep at Walmart and had McD’s breakfast and found some free wifi to post my blog. From there I drove west on Hwy 18, the worst excuse for a paved road I’ve travelled in a long, long time. It’s nothing but broken pavement and patches that have been patched together. The best parts were the gravel sections. Amazingly, there were beautiful farmsteads along the way with excellent, well maintained driveways!

The intent was to drive through the Saskatchewan badlands, and I did see some, particularly through the Big Muddy Valley area, but by Coronach I had had enough . Plus I wanted to stop in and see my niece in Assiniboia, so I headed north again. Had a brief visit there and then continued heading northwest but ended up turning south at Cadillac and made it to Val Marie for the night. Was the only one in the excellent little community campground. Hot showers even!
