London, London, City of, United Kingdom
The flight out of Perth went without a hitch except that the flight was so full that the blocked off seat for Graeme was booked out so we had only a seat each. Contrary to what we thought our travelling companion was a really lovely young Scottish girl :)

Arriving in Dubai, we waited for the rest of the plane to empty so we could take our time getting off so we were last . I peeked into the flight deck and the pilot invited us up into the cockpit. The plane was an A380 so it was a bit of a buzz for both of us. The first officer was this young lady, very cool.

After a three hour stopover we were on the last leg and looking forward to landing in Gatwick but about a half an hour out they let us know that there had been a hydraulic oil spill on the main runway so they informed us that we were diverting to Manchester... oh bother... I was thinking about the long trip back to London when they told us they were allowed to land at Heathrow. They taxied to the 'boon docks' of Heathrow and we proceeded to sit on the plane for almost two hours... YAWN. Not good for travel-weary passengers. Then finally they started to empty a 550 seat plane through one door by stairs. As we were in row 82 it took a while... about half an hour or more. They then drove us a few kilometres by bus into terminal three. We then had to find our way into London from Heathrow on the underground trains and after a bit of a wander dragging our suitcases, finally found our accommodation about 4 hours late. We felt a bit better after a shower and some much needed sleep. However, we were awake at 2:30am and had a cuppa and watched some telly... hope we are going to be OK for tomorrow. I think it's Tuesday :)

Waiting that long just to get off a plane? Blah.

Glad you got to your hotel safely but you must have been knackered.
