Change of Command

Algonac, Michigan, United States
After the sale of the Huron Lady II, we have been shopping for a replacement boat to fill the hole in the water left behind. We have looked at boats in Connecticut, Maine, Ohio, Ontario, and various ports in Michigan. We finally found the right boat in nearby Algonac. It was owned by Jim and Jane for the past five years. They had bought her with the dream of doing the Great Loop. But their plans had changed and they have postponed their dream, hopefully to be take it up again later. We hope to do them proud by putting some miles under her keel.

Change of command aboard the Meander took place at Sassy Marina in Algonac, Michigan. Jim and Jane loaded her up with all her special amenities and Jim demonstrated how the systems worked. Also in attendance were Nick & Lina, Mary, and Mike who were home for their annual summer reunion. We departed Algonac at 11:30 AM for the five hour cruise to Meander's new home at Bridge Harbour Marina in Port Huron.
