Clayton to Boldt Castle to Georgina Island

Alexandria Bay, New York, United States
The wind died this morning allowing us to shift over to the fuel dock for diesel and pumpout. We loaded 214.6 gallons. Having traveled 617 miles that computes to just about 2.9 miles per gallon. Not too much worse that a giant motorhome I would guess.

After that operation we traveled downriver to Heart Island and Boldt Castle where we docked in a little heart shaped lagoon. Boldt Castle was really quite amazing. I won’t go into detal here but I recommend you go to the Boldt Castle website:  http://www.boldtcastle.com

We spent about 4 hours at the castle and then crossed back into Canada docking for the nitght at a Parks Canada dock on Georgina Island. There are several Parks Canada docks in the Thousand Islands as well as the Trent and Rideau canals. Our pass that allowed us to dock on the canal also allows us to dock at any of the Parks Canada docks. Parks Canada is similar to our national parks, I think. They are usually fairly rustic with no water or electric.

Tomorrow we plan to leave early and arrive in Kingston by noon or so to spend the day. We’ve heard from several cruisers that Kingston is a very beautiful and historic city with lots to see and do. We should also have wifi there to catch you up on our travels.
