Georgina Island to Kingston

Kingston, Ontario, Canada
We did indeed make it to Kingston around noon as planned. What wasn't planned was several miles of 3-4 foot head seas and a 20-30 mph west wind. We ran at a slightly reduced speed and it wasn't too bad. Charlie and Camille may disagree.

We planned on starting sightseeing right after lunch, but we met a couple on a Grand Banks 42 the same year as ours and we chatted for some time, toured each others boats, met some other boaters and pretty soon it was 2:30 and we were just getting started. But that's part of the fun of cruising: Meeting other cruisers and talking boats.

We did what most tourists do and took the trolly tour. It was a nice hour-long tour that highlighted all the sights with a narration of the history of each, etc. We went to dinner at a nice Scottish restaurant called Sir John's Public House. It was once the law office of Sir John A. Macdonald, the first Prime Minister of Canada. Kind of like our George Washington. I had fish and chips and a bloody caesar and Camille had Highland lamb shank with tatties and neeps (mashed potatoes and mashed turnips).

Then back to the boat to take advantage of the wifi and shore power. It's beginning to rain and the wind is due to switch to the north at 20. Tomorrow night is supposed to get down into the 30's. We're not sure of tomorrow's itinerary. Livin' the dream!
