Montebello to Carillon Lock

Saint-André-d'Argenteuil, Quebec, Canada
We did some more touring around the grounds of the Chateau Montebello while finishing up the laundry. This would be a nice place to spend a few days if it weren’t so darned expensive. We had a delicious late breakfast in the dining room and left about 12:30 PM.

With light winds, sunshine, and temps in the low 70’s, we uncovered the flybridge and let Otto drive most of the way while we enjoyed the turning of the fall colors. However we
arrived at the lock a half hour too late to get through the Carillon lock. We had to tie up above the lock but were treated to a beautiful sunset across the Ottawa River. We also met another couple that arrived about the same time we did and had a happy hour docktail while enjoying the sunset. Tomorrow we’ll get underway around 10 AM to go through the Carillon lock and head downriver to St. Anne-de-Bellevue, just west of Montreal.
