Chambly Day 2

Chambly, Quebec, Canada
We decided to spend another day exploring this nice and historic little town. It is part of the Park Canada system so there is no extra charge to stay here. There are some nice bike trails that we took advantage of. We also went back to Fort Chambly to tour the inside of the fort. It was a very nice museum with displays on the history of the fort and what it was like to live there. We have to remember that much of early Canadian history includes conflicts with their adversaries from the south. That would be the U.S. So in a way we are in enemy territory.

It was another summer-like day and we were glad that we stayed to enjoy it here. We also were able to get the pass code for the wifi of a local pub so that we are able to finally update this blog.

Tomorrow we lock up to Staint-Jean-de-Richelieu at Lock 9. We plan to spend a couple days there to do some laundry as well as some boat maintenance that I want get done before we drydock. It's another free dock so it will be a good time to do the work there rather than a marina in Burlington.

I spent half the afternoon going thru the last 20 days of your trip. WOW what an experience. We are just starting to pack for our trip to Australia as we leave next Sunday. Don't think I'll be blogging though. Your pictures are GREAT! Miss you loads and things have been quite busy here at ES. If you don't get home by the 12th, will see you in a month. (:

We have really been enjoying reading your travel blog. Sounds like a neat trip and a educational experience also. Great pictures. Turned rather cold here today. Stay warm.
