Valcour Island, New York, United States
The weather report was not good this morning, calling for rain and wind Sunday and Monday. We decided to get to Burlington ahead of the weather, but we wanted to anchor one more night before our trip ends in Burlington. And it seemed a shame to cross Lake Champlain without exploring at least one of its many anchorages. So we toured Fort Lennox in the morning then left for Valcour Island to anchor.

Our Fort Lennox tour was really good. We were the only tourists that early so we had our own personal tour. Our tour guide was very enthusiastic and knowlegable. We really got a good Canadian history lesson.

We left the island about 12:30 for the 4 1/2 hour run to Valcour Island.

Valcour Ilsand is an uninhabited state park on the New York side of the lake with several anchorages around the Island. The wind being out of the north we decided on Bluff Point South anchorage on the south end of the island. There were several other boats already in the anchorage, but it was big enough for at least one more. By the time we were anchored we didn't have much time to explore but we did get Charlie ashore to do some do do.

The wind was north light all night so we had an easy overnight at anchor.
