Burlington to Chimney Point

Chimney Point, Vermont, United States
After fueling up at the marina we had thought Meander would spend the winter at, we cruised down Lake Champlain with New York on the starboard and Vermont on the port. New York seemed to have the better mountains and colors. At times we were only a quarter mile offshore but the depth sounder read 350 feet.

We were on our way to Champlain Bridge Marina where we will have inside storage for Meander. The marina seemed pretty small at first but there are other trawlers drydocked here so we're confident it will be a fine location. The proprietor seems to know his boats and is very congenial and enthusiastic.

Our vehicle will be delivered here in the morning and we will spend tomorrow unpacking the boat and packing up the van. We plan to head home Friday morning, crossing New York to Quebec then through Canada to the Maritime Capital of the Great Lakes. What took us 6 weeks to meander will take us about 11 hours to drive.
