Wimbledon, England, United Kingdom
Wow! Another successful party with abundant sunshine and a houseful of happy relatives and close friends. Thanks to Catherine's attention to detail, organization, and superb culinary skills, everyone had a smashing good time!

Catherine and Nigel own a charming home in Wimbledon, England--a perfect setting for a garden party reception in honor of the newly weds . We quickly fell into "work crew status" along with cousins Claire and Lynn plus close family friend Janie from Ottawa. Nigel set up the tables and bar while the kitchen crew prepared 7 different salads, Chef Andrew worked his magic with salmon, and Catherine single-handedly produced 5 amazing cakes!

Among the 50 guests were relatives Andrew had not seen in over 40 years! In fact, some of the family members were meeting each other for the first time. Catherine researched the family lineage on Gemma's side and Marie-Helene's. An extensive family tree was posted at the entry way.

The afternoon came to a happy and satisfying end. Thank you so much, Catherine and Nigel for hosting a lovely English garden party reception. Congratulations to Gemma and Marie-Helene, and thank you both for giving us the BEST reason to celebrate!

Great photos, Mom! Love the Mexican painting for Gemma and Marie-Helene. Was that a gift from Andrew?

Hi Lindy. Yes, Andrew and I chatted with Antonio "Shaman" and gave him a photo of Gemma & M.H. We described them a bit and he did the rest. Their portraits symbolize their choice to be free and live life joyfully; the other figures are walking in the opposite direction not really feeling anything.. The style is French impressionism with the colors of Mexico. He's an awesome artist.
