2082 The not so Family friendly Tourist Ghetto

Sosua, Dominican Republic
Day 3-036
2 hrs, 3 .7 kms
Day totals: 16 hrs, 22.2 kms

I decided to leave my stuff back at the hotel rather than haul it with me from town town today. Heading back there, I figure I can make one last stop: Sosua.

Sosua is another tourist ghetto--but of a different sort. Not a lot of families here. Lot's of European and American men--and even more Haitian prostitutes. Some young and attractive, some older and desperate. Considering the ratio of prostitutes to tourists, it looks like many of them will go a long time without finding any "customers"...

Sosua does have a cool beach, with a tree lined boardwalk and a calm sea just few feet away, tucked cozily between two penninsulas. I get there just in time for sunset and a pleasant videoclip...

Ready to call it a day.
