Bourmmane, Souss-Massa-Drâa, Morocco
3 hrs, 3.0 kms

It's always nice, after a day when you have no idea what’s going to happen or where you’re going to stay, to have a day that’s predicable with guaranteed lodging at the and . That’s today. Today I have an easy 21 kilometer hike to reach Toundout, across familiar terrain, peppered with villages to make it interesting. From there I have guaranteed transport to Skoura where I can stay the night. But still, I want to have an early start so I can have time to soak in the landscape at a leisurely pace.

I start out by following the rocky riverbed a the the bottom of the gorge that continues from Imin Oulouan, but then opens up to a wider valley a few kilometres down the road. Behind me I can see snowy peaks far up the valley.

Just a couple kilometres away is the village of Bourman, built on a sort of "knee" of the mountain, jutting out over the gorge. Not a lot of space—but it does have a secondary school making it a minor hub for the area.
