1474. A Picturesque View

After Bourman, I follow the road that winds up along the side of the steep mountainside, to get a bit more panoramic view for a change . But it's not long and the gorge comes to an end, the almost dry riverbed almost quadruples in width, and the rocky dirt road ends and a paved road begins—sort of giving the feeling of reentering civilization. Here, right at the mouth of the gorge is another little traditional village—actually 3 clusters of houses on both sides of the riverbed.

With the wide open space, this area doesn’t have the same magic of the Imin Oulouan gorge—but it is still a pleasant area to walk through—as long as it doesn’t get to hot. I alternate between walking along the riverbed, and following the windy road. One peculiar thing I notice on the rocky hillside are hundreds of little holes in the side of the hill—looking almost like post office boxes. No idea what they’d be for…
