La Puebla del Río, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands
Day 168 3 hrs, 5.0 kms
As I continue a beautiful walk down the river, it strikes me that life could hardly be more perfect . So perfect, that I feel that I can just disconnect from my humble little life for a while and rise to another dimension... Look at the vast expanse of history that has ebbed and flowed along these river banks... feeling connected to everything that has ever happened and ever will happen in this corner of the world. A magical moment of zen... forgetting about my brief mortal existence and thinking about this world, its beauty and culture which has endured and will endure far beyond my years...
And then I find myself in another town, Puebla Del Rio. Another cozy town with narrow streets and cozy little churches. A tile mural in a park of Columbus' arrival to the Americas is a reminder of the part this region played in conquest of the New World: Columbus set sail down the Guadalquivir River.
