East Berlin, Pennsylvania, United States
Day 309
4 hrs, 7 .2 kms
Day totals: 13 hrs, 27.2 kms

New Berlin is a bit off of my route--but I've got to explore it, just because of the name if nothing else. I can't quite figure out why it's called "East Berlin"... I mean, aren't we west of the real Berlin?

Later I learn that it's because there's another "Berlin" here in Pennsylvania, and this one is east of that Berlin.

Here I continue to notice darker colors in the houses (dark greens and reds) giving it a sort of Bavarian feel. I also see a different sort of "half timber" house: in between each log is a layer of sealed stone... looks nice.

And with that I head on back south to continue my loop of Adams county.
