1840. Strumming by the river

Marysville, Pennsylvania, United States
2 hrs, 4 kms

My second and last town in Perry county is Maryville, a compact little town squeezed between the mountains and the river . You know it's a rather unpretentious town when the most interesting building is an apartment building with a clock tower...

It does have a boat dock on the Susquehanna... an nice spot to strum and reflect.

It does strike me as a bit odd that the houses right along the river a pretty run of the mill. Normally riverfront property is a luxury of the wealthy in this country...

Content with my Perry county experience, I continue on down the road and around the bend... and into the vast, open Cumberland Valley.

Goodbye mountains. Goodbye hiking in the wild. It's time to do some city.
