I continue on south, up over a ridge and through the forest, to another much smaller valley. which consists of some farmland and open meadows... and a big trailer park in the middle.

I wonder how the farmers here felt, seeing this new "neighborhood" suddenly pop up in their peaceful valley...

Further up ahead a section of the valley floor has been turned a development with houses with enormous yards. This actually bothers me more than the trailer park--at least the trailer park provides homes for people in a space efficient way... this development looks like a squandering of a precious resource on huge yards that people really aren't going to use for anything...

Veering off to the west is my next town: Newry. This town wins the prize for Shabbiest Town Hall. It looks like a little old church or schoolhouse that hasn't had a paint job or any maintenance done on it in decades .

I climb up a hillside through the cemetery to take a much needed break and Parkbench session, before continuing my loop back up north to finish my tour of Logan Valley.

Conclusions on my Logan Valley Tour

Kind of have mixed feelings for this region. Some parts of it felt moderately inspiring... other parts a little depressing. Mostly it feels kind of in the middle--an industrial civilization that hasn't really moved forward, but hasn't suffered major decay either. I guess the poor land management is what bothered me the most. When land is a very limited resource as it is here, it's especially troubling to see commercial and urban sprawl--in an area where the population is actually shrinking!

...Anyways... I'm glad I came here and fully experienced this valley. Now I'm ready to move on.
