It's dark by the time I reach my next town, which has an old railroad car/station on display. Apparently, back in this regions heyday, a train chugged up these slopes.

It looks like the "heart" of Dudley is up on a hill. I'm tempted to pass it up, but then remember.. all hill top towns are worth exploring right?... Well, yeah, if they're in Italy or Spain... American hilltop towns, no so much.

I wearily make my way up the last 4 kilometers to my stopping point of the day (or rather night): Broad Top City. I'll save exploring it for another time.

As I stop at the local store to find a treat to reward myself with, an old fellow stops by. "Did you walk all the way from Coalmont? I feel really bad that I didn't offer you a ride."

"Oh that's OK--I actually was walking on purpose"

"Oh... I feel so much better now..."
