And boy is it a quick week!! Now the word has got out that I'm home, it's great to get in touch with other friends too for a quick meet up!As Dad is just ready to hand over the keys to our family home, it also means that it is perfect timing that I am home to say my farewells to the place we all grew up, shared many many wonderful happy times but also saw sad times . I wandered around each empty room, randomly touching things, randomly remembering all sorts of fun and mischief, ah those growing up days! I cut the grass, talked to some neighbours plus I also met the new owner who is due to move in next week, he was with his mum and dad who stay nearby and I enjoyed the positive energy from them and excitement at the new home. As I only planned on leaving for a year maybe two to go traveling, 5 years later will I use much of what I left behind? Yes... some meaningful, personal things I do want to keep but I think I managed to be pretty ruthless to get rid of a lot of stuff which was split between different friends and family homes which I took my time sorting through. I can't thank everyone enough for hanging on to my belongings especially when the didn't know when I would be back, it was appreciated.Dad's new place is nicely set up and feeling like home already and I wish Dad every happiness in this new part of his life... long may the adventures continue. Loved the family dinners at home and having a few old favorite foods which I hadn't had for a long time, and being down a local pub for a pint ... ah it's the simple things. It was lovely being in Glasgow City again, Merchant City, Tron, markets and old haunts I used be in, and wee ladies that would speak to you at the bus stop and people who can actually understand you instead of the frequent questions of 'do you speak English'? It can be very frustrating at times, I'm not the easiest to understand I guess. Thanks to some friends I managed to spent some time with, Raymie, Maria, Craig, Pamela, Gordon and Laura, Chic a dee, Dougstar, Paul and wee Billy to name a few. And some of the family, aunts and cousins that I quickly ran in to see through the chaos of sorting and the week really did fly in. Sorry many of the encounters were brief, but every one meant a lot.Who knows when I'll see you all again, I've no idea what's ahead of me on my travels, sweet adventures I hope, filled with lots and lots of fun. I'm heading back to Thailand at the minute to continue the refit on sailing yacht Aria in the shipyard in Satun, hopefully it won't last too much longer and we will get her launched and out on sea trials, around many of the beautiful islands and back to having fun!!Here's to the next time I see everyone... cheers... was fab and I miss all you guys!!
