The Dallas JFK and foodies tour!

Thursday, December 07, 2017
Dallas, Texas, United States
Today was the first tour of the holiday... a historical JFK assasination tour and of course a foodies tour!
We started at the Dallas little red museum, which is reused from its court house days...
and to the JFK memorial...the book repository and the grassy noll where it all happened... the window on the 6th floor is still marked today as is the road where the terrible event occurred.
This is downtown just near our hotel... and it took a good 20years for Dallas to move on just a bit and start changing... but some things never will..
Then taking the local Metro rail (DART) to Uptown to start the food part of the tour... into a BBQ house... tasted cactus (just like green beans) and empanadas and goat cheese... was tasty all up, but the best was the peanut butter pie dessert!!! OMG OMG OMG! The best...
moving through uptown by tram... yes Dallas has trams too... to a morrocon restaurant which had some great dips to try... again walking to a taco house... and then finally a burger house before a fresh patissserie for dessert...
full tummy... but met a lovely lady from Germany and another guy from Brisbane...whi were with us on the tour... at the end of the tour we all headed to the Arts district... for a wander through the Dallas Art Gallery and a look at the Dallas Opera House... I think we all just needed the walk too... full tummy’s needed to be digested!
It was cold cold cold... and started to snow briefly! But we survived...
