It's Sunday night and we are sitting in the Qantas Club waiting for our 11pm flight to Dubai and then Rome. I've been so excited about another overseas trip that I have been driving everyone around me nuts (and you could all be nice now and say that is not the case....). Having finished work on Friday, I managed to finish packing at 2.59pm, about 15 minutes before the taxi arrived. Garth deserves legendary status though - in the shower at 3pm and ready for the taxi at exactly 3.15pm. And my blood pressure has finally subsided, probably because I have had a couple of very nice champagnes. He is very BAD !

The first leg of the international flight was great . I slept for hours, very unusual! Then we changed to an Emirates flight and I was very impressed with our little cubicles (a bit like first class but without the price!). Emirates 380s have cameras attached to the plane so you can see what the pilot sees when she takes off (which was another half dozen 380s lined up ready to take-off!). Thankfully they were all well behaved and took off nicely in turn..... It was fabulous looking down onto the desert, but it became hard to see very quickly (all that sand blowing around).

Arrived in Rome without any hitches, and ready now for our three months adventure.
