Started off the day with another swim before heading around the western tip of Hvar. Passed Hvar town and settled ourselves in another natural cove with a small pebbly beach around the point from Milna.
Swimming and relaxing whilst waiting for a shore mechanic to come and fix the outboard motor on the dinghy.
The boys had tried to get it going but finally admitted defeat after checking the fuel lines, the electrical circuits and cleaning the spark plugs. It turned out to be a carburettor issue that took the young mechanic one hour to fix.
Once resolved we went to shore and got a taxi to Hvar town and explored it for the afternoon.
First stop was the 16th century Fortica Španjola that has wonderful crenellations walls and towers and excellent views of Hvar and the Pakleni Islands.
The old part of Hvar is really attractive town with a lot of Venetian influences in the architecture.
The waterfront was very lively with the the music pumping and the Yacht Week revellers dressed up in their white linen outfits for their ‘Riviera’ party….and as Dan commented…. That was him.. previous life, previous linen!
Back at Milna we arranged to eat in the local restaurant Moli Onte and Ivan ferried us back to the boat after our excellent dinner.
